It can be valuable to recognize the downward spiraling ‘pull’ of old beliefs and old patterns of thinking and behavior. Just like the suction that pulls water down a drain. These patterns are ‘ruts’, meaning that there are literally ‘tracks in your brain’ that pull you into the grooves of your conditioning. This is why it can seem like ‘hard work’ to overcome them and create new ways of thinking and of behaving which lead to new results.
Think of a car that is stuck in the mud.
It often takes several runs – of rolling back, gaining momentum and determination, and revving forward – to break free of the rut.
This is as true in the non-physical (our mind) as it is in the physical (the car). When you begin to realize that ‘metaphysics’ is simply physics in the meta (non-physical) realm, you will move much more swiftly on your path to awakening. On your path to plenty.
And so when you encounter ‘mud’ and you feel as if you are ‘stuck’, this is precisely when it is most valuable to follow these four steps and the practices therein. For these steps are the rocking back, gaining momentum and determination, and revving forward that will break you free of the old and launch you into the bounty and sheer delight of the new.
